Okay, so this should be the final installment of my pictorial recap. For the most part, we should be all caught up and now it’s up to me to keep things more up to date.
We first start out with the fires that burned in Los Angeles at the end of August and early September. It was another summer full of fires in southern California. This picture from Fernando’s rooftop is of the fires in La Canada.

After this photo we headed to little Tokyo for some food and store browsing. Love me some slightly ackward Japanese toys. Here is some sushi toys.

Been going to the North Hollywood dog park with Neron on Sunday mornings. Took some quick shots of the electrical towers next to the dog park.

At the beginning of October I got to see Thom Yorke play at the Orpheum in downtown LA. He put a quick band together (which included Flea and Nigel Godrich) and put on an amazing show consisting mostly of songs from his solo album and some new tunes. Flea rocked it and Thom Yorke was on point, as always. Here are a couple shots.

Last week I had to fly into New York on business. Flew in and out for an all day meeting and was not able to see much of the city. I was able to get a couple pics of Grand Central Station.

So this is part three of the recap installment. Check the previous two post for the earlier parts of the pictorial recap.
First up, in mid July, is a Peruvian festival the family got a chance to check out. The food was great and it was good to see so much Peruvian food in one place.

In early August we got a chance to have a mini staycation in downtown Los Angeles. On the first afternoon we checked out the exhibit at the MOCA.

They had a room full of Rothko paintings.

Had a chance to walk around and appreciate the buildings architecture of downtown.

Finally, walked over to LA Live and checked out a mini tournament the Lakers were hosting.

So… sorry for the lack of updates the last few weeks. Been super busy with life but wanted to catch up on a couple recent happenings.
First off, the family got to hangs on the beaches of San Clemente a few weeks back (check the previous Easter post from the iPhone). Completely relaxing and completely needed. Here is the view from the patio. Pretty sweet!
These next shots were taken at the Fiest Broadway festival in Downtown LA. The festival itself was whatever. A lot of “spin the wheel for a free bottle opener or pen” booths.
But the family did get a chance to eat in the Grand Central Market. Really great place. Totally recommend trying to make it out there. Had some great mexican food!
Been to a couple cool art shows in the last 2 weeks.
First off, mister Jim Darling had a showing at the Charmichael Gallery in Hollywood. Fucking great stuff Jim. Wish I had some money to buy a piece.
This last weekend we went over to the MOCA for the members opening night of the Dan Graham exhibition. Some good drinks and music with Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth (separately) performing. Got a shot of Thurston and Kim (she is right behind the woman with the green bag) with artist Dan Graham.
Checked out my first ever Photo LA exposition last weekend. Got a chance to see a ton of great photography from some of the best collections from Los Angeles Galleries. Great way to get some valuable inspiration, but also made me realize how mediocre my photos are. It was nice to see someone I used to work with, Alex Prager, blow up and have work on display.
Here are a couple shots from the show.
Having been wanting to try Kogi (the Korean BBQ taco truck) since I first heard of it about a month back. I love taco trucks and the fusion of Korean BBQ sounded like heaven on earth. Only in LA! Follow the taco truck on twitter at @KOGIBBQ.
Well, Mochi was able to have Kogi cater Molly’s birthday in downtown LA. No way I was going to miss that. During the day at work we got the massive shipment of vendor gifts. Calories up the wazoo!
I made sure to stay hungry towards the end of the day so i would have my fixin of Kogi.
Tis the season. You have to love holiday season. Sales in the department stores, everyone seems to be a little happier, and everyone throws holiday parties.
This year had waaaaaayyyy to much wine at DVB’s place. Started out the night checking out Molly & Mochi’s new loft in downtown. I am f*cking jealous!
We then all headed over to the west side for the holiday festivities. Here is a picture I barely remember taking. Shortly after this is where my memory begins to fade. Good times!
Went to the Auto Show last weekend and saw some nice cars. It’s good to see that alternative energy cars are a bigger and bigger part of the show. There was definitely a big emphasis on being green this year.
Here are some picture highlights of the show. First off is the Dodge EV.
Mini Cooper E
Lambo
Porsche Cayman
Rolls Phantom
Honda FC Sport Concept Car
Had another family fun day in downtown on a nice Sunday afternoon. The tour started at the Barker Lofts. Urth Cafe recently opened up and wanted to do the taste test. Breakfast was pretty good, but it ain’t cheap! Didn’t get a chance to try it, but I hear the pumpkin pie is legendary here!
After the MOCA we went back to the Barker Block to check out the Festival De La Gente.
