Thom Yorke at the Orpheum

Great show watching Thom Yorke & Flea at the Orpheum in downtown Los Angeles.

I’m in TechCrunch!

… well not really! Kind of!

I read geek news all the time and TechCrunch is one of the tech blogs I subscribe to from my Google Reader (For my non geek friends, Google Reader consolidates all the blogs & stories I read into one place.)  Google Reader recently added the “I Like” functionality to its services and I have started to use it.  There was an article yesterday that talked about the new feature and take a look at the picture within the article.  The Liked list, third row, fourth name: my name appears.  I did “Like” this article so I am pretty sure that is me.

taking pictures

I enjoy taking pictures!

Well, recently my pictures have been getting a bit of outside interest.  Flickr views are up and I have recently been getting a couple requests to use my pictures.  All my photos are under the creative common license so it is pretty easy (and more importantly free) to use my photos for any purpose.

A couple months back I sold my first photos for use in a marketing pamphlet.  I didn’t get paid much but I thought it was pretty cool that someone would use my photos for a print piece.  Now this last week someone used my picture for a blog post.

Check out http://www.landor.com/index.cfm?do=thinking.blog&post_id=18854#top

Not my favorite picture but just glad someone would use it.

Chopping wood

Been a real cold winter this year and a perfect opportunity to turn on the fireplace. We had some wood (from a tree we recently removed from our backyard) that I have been wanting to chop up and use in the fireplace. Bought an axe the other day and have just now realized that I really enjoy chopping wood.  Yeah, imagine that!  You get a great exercise and it is a very good way of relieving stress.

Kogi, the Korean Taco Truck

Having been wanting to try Kogi (the Korean BBQ taco truck) since I first heard of it about a month back. I love taco trucks and the fusion of Korean BBQ sounded like heaven on earth. Only in LA! Follow the taco truck on twitter at @KOGIBBQ.

Well, Mochi was able to have Kogi cater Molly’s birthday in downtown LA. No way I was going to miss that. During the day at work we got the massive shipment of vendor gifts. Calories up the wazoo!

I made sure to stay hungry towards the end of the day so i would have my fixin of Kogi.

The oil painting potrait.

So this last July we helped out our sister TBWA office, agency.com in Shanghai, with a project. We gave them the source code of a very nice inter office web app. We helped them install it and they told us they were sending a thank you gift. They asked us to send over a picture of the LA team for an oil painting. We emailed them the photo and forgot all about it. Last Monday I get a message from the mail room that there is a big freight package for me. I pick it up, lug it over to the back, and open it up.

It is a fucking masterpiece! This made my week! I didn’t know that oil adds 20 pounds to the face. ;)

I’m the one at the far left btw, if you didn’t know!
